Ashley Williams stood alone this season holding her debut solo show, fresh of the back of Fashion East, last Sunday.
Of course the WAH babes were on hand, armed with the new WAH London products, to finish the look on the beauty front. The girls used black polish ‘Heart of Darkness’ to give the nails that slick statement look, fitting with the makeup that defied the trends of the season. A drawn in eyebrow, a neon shadow, a deep lip and a black nail may sound a little OTT, but Williams managed to make it click.
The WAH London colour of choice contrasted with the pinky hues, yet matched the more mono looks, perfectly complimenting the vibrant prints and glittery goodness within the show.
Each piece of Williams’ collection saw an eclectic mix of east and west, flowing into stronger oriental influences as the show progressed. Think neon coloured rubbers and glitter bras mixed with traditional Asian dress and say hey to one dream combo!
Slogans were collaged in various texture and colour, giving each look individual recognition and making for a girly, seriously unforgettable aesthetic that totally reminded us of grunge teens in the 90s.
We love a tad of vibrancy here at WAH London and Williams certainly didn’t hold back. The clash of punky and rebellious vibes with a nod to Asia equalled a fun collection that certainly lightened the mood. It was Williams’ fun graphics (and that neon eye shadow!) that made us remember why London Fashion Week still has that edge no other city can mirror.
