BeautySpotter is the UK’s first mobile app for hair and beauty salon discovery. It’s kinda like Instagram - scroll through pics of hair, nails and make up in locations around you, so you can get an idea of what they offer before you book. Pretty cool right? The BeautySpotter gang had a pop up at Box Park Shoreditch (which brought back sweet, sweet WAH memories) from February 19th-23rd and obvs we were invited.
To celebrate the launch, we offered amazing custom BeautySpotter nail art dreamed up by WAH girl Ellie…
…and here she is doing what she does best!
We managed to fit in a few glasses of champagne, cake pops and even a mini photo shoot between painting. Dreamy. We held down the fort on Thursday and Sunday, but tonnes of talented individuals graced the days in-between; Radio London Hair Salon, Cheeky Parlour, Josh Wood Atelier and The Painted Lady to name a few. Check out the BeautySpotter Facebook page for all the deets on the pop up. Head to the app store to download BeautySpotter now and be sure to look out for WAH!
You know here at WAH, we care about our style as much as we do our manis. So it comes as no surprise that we’ve been helping out at London Fashion Week this season, with our nail pens at the ready to match finger art to the collections…
First up was the killer Nasir Mazhar’s show last Friday at Somerset House. Square, super long and metallic - these talons were not for the faint hearted. Base colours of pink, blue, gold, red, black and white were decorated with deconstructions of Nasir’s logo. His mash up of subcultures saw gothy New Rock boots teamed with TLC style ‘boxers’ and label emblazoned, sporty crop tops. Gelled kiss curls and dark lip liner completed the ultimate street wear look, all topped off with smatterings of fur and gas masks - we seriously dig. Tuesday was time for Fashion East and our girl Ashley Williams, who was showing at the Tate Modern’s huge turbine hall.
She was feeling all American this season, taking inspiration from Houston Texas baaaaaby (well not specifically Houston, but why not throw in a Beyonce quote hey?) Nails were super cute, rounded and short, featuring cats, pigs and ponies. Stars and stripes, sweet slogans from the collection and the shape of the Texas state were also included on matte pink and black, bright yellow, silver and girly white florals. Enviably sleek, straight hair paired with oversized dungarees and lashings of mascara helped make up Happy Ashley Land for Autumn/Winter 2014.
